Happy New Year’s everyone!
Another year of life has flown by and whether 2015 was the best year of your life or the worst one yet, IT'S OVER! Today we welcome a new year that God has blessed us with and I, myself, like many others have declared that this will be the best year yet. I think it’s very important to have an optimistic outlook in general but especially in the beginning of a new year. Everything just feels better New, which is why most people (including myself) say, “I’ll start my weight loss journey next year” or “I’ll go back to school next year”. I hope that everyone has had time to reflect on the good and bad of last year and hopefully you know what you want to change for the new year. But if you’re like me you probably need inspiration or a bit of a guideline to get you started, so below I have 10 things that I think could be of help for everyone. I hope these things can get you started and I pray this is the most productive, profitable and prosperous year of your life!
Your relationship with God, family, and friends
In my opinion, your relationship with God is the most important relationship you’ll ever have. This year make him your first priority and I promise you’ll begin to see growth in your life. Spend more time with God. Pray more, read your bible, go to church more often, include him in the decisions you make and I guarantee you’ll chose wiser decisions.
Family. I know that they get on your last nerve sometimes but spend more time with family. Make more memories, plan trips, call and check up on them from time to time. You’ll be glad that you did because tomorrow isn’t promised so remind them every chance that you get that you love them!
What about your friennnnds. By now, you should know your real friend’s vs your acquaintances. Cherish your friendships. Just as I said with family, make more memories, go on day trips, have a night with the girls. Sit back, eat cheese, drink wine and just talk. But most importantly, Be a friend. The same qualities you want in a friend should be the same qualities that are in you. If you’re the friend that always talks about themselves, listen more. If you’re the friend that rarely shares your own problems, speak up. Also, pay attention to the company you keep and decide who’s really down for you and who isn't.
2. Healthier living.
Know what you are eating. These days we are all guilty of eating way too much fast food and sadly there are so many preservatives and high levels of cholesterol or sodium in the food we eat and we have no clue. Slowly but surely these foods are killing us and I promise you these companies do not care. This year take control of what your putting in your body. Start by cooking more. When you cook your own food you know exactly what you’re putting it and even if your frying it, it’ll be 5x healthier than eating processed chicken nuggets from McDonalds. Look up different vegetables and fruits or even meats that are good for you and the benefits. Instead of relying on Red bulls or 5-hour energy drinks, eat more bananas, take a zinc supplement, drink more water, and get more sleep!
Join a gym. Set realistic goals within a realistic time frame and watch yourself start to evolve.
Drink less alcohol, soda, juices with a lot of sugars and start drinking more water! I promise you drinking water benefits you in more ways than one. Water flushes out all the bad toxins in your body. Water energizes your muscles. Water keeps your skin clear. The list goes on but please DRINK MORE WATER!
3. Spend less time on social media
4.Save your money.
Instead of constantly blowing your check learn to budget your money and live without your means. Start a savings account. After paying your bills and buying your necessities, put money in your savings. Look at it like you’re paying yourself!
5.Be more consistent.
6.STOP PROCRASTINATING
7.Set small goals that will help you achieve your long term goals.
8.Become more organized. Write out a daily schedule.
9.Learn to let go of grudges. Become more understanding. Learn to love people and like things.
10.And last but certainly not least, this year learn to love yourself. If 2015 didn’t teach me anything, it taught me that self-love is the best love. Be more confident in you. Do things because they make YOU happy. Start living for yourself because when you die, you die. Not your parents, or your friends so live for you.
