#TTISB: The Shade Is “REAL”:
What’s REALLY Going On??
Welcome back residents of ShadyBrooke!! I hope all of you are enjoying your holiday weekend, but just because it’s a holiday weekend doesn’t mean there aren’t any stories to tell. I’ve been following the Tamar Braxton story for a week now and when I tell you it is a lot to keep up with!!! So… let’s break this allllllll the way down.
As you all know, Tamar Braxton is one of the co-hosts on the very popular talk show “The Real”. “The Real” is known for Tamar and her other co-hosts (Tamara Mowry, Jeannie Mai, Adrienne Bailon, and Loni Love) throwing shade and keeping it “real” on today’s topics. The show recently ended its second season and EVERYONE (including the hosts) were looking forward to the third season. But clearly someone in production had a different vision for Tamar.
On May 21st, Tamar posted a subliminal Instagram post claiming that she had been “stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted (not my man or my sisters).” She also announced that she will be taking a short hiatus from social media to clear her head. This automatically raised my antenna because I knew something was going on with either her music, her reality show, or “The Real”. The next day “The Real” producers issued this statement:
“THE REAL and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season. She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with THE REAL appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
I immediately called bull on this “mutually decided” mess they were trying to feed us. Let’s look at this. Tamar began working on the show in 2014. Since then she has continued to work on two reality shows (“Braxton Family Values” and “Tamar and Vince”), participated on “Dancing with the Stars”, and even dropped her third album. If she was doing all this, why would she quit a show that she put so much into? This was one of the question in many viewers and fans minds.
Immediately after the statement, many fans began to leave all types of tweets on Twitter. Some left tweets showing their support of Tamar. Some tweets stated that the show will not last long without her. But most of the tweets bashed her co-host (with the exception of Tamara Mowry) for her departure. This led to all of the co-hosts making sincere social media posts about Tamar and how hard her departure is for them. This did not stop the harsh comments from Twitter fans. Tamar’s Tamartian (Tamar Braxton STANS) Army particularly came for Loni Love calling her “fake” and a “backstabber”
The real scandal of it all was when Tamar’s former assistant and good friend hopped into the equation and read “The Real” and all its employees to shame and shambles. He claimed that “The Real” producers tried to paint Tamar as spoiled and bratty when in reality she was the complete opposite. One example he used was that while the other co-hosts demanded personal drivers to drive them to the set, Tamar drove herself to work every day and was on time. He also claimed that the producers were angry that Tamar took time off after her health issues. Lastly, he claimed that one of the co-host (with the exception of Tamera Mowry) had a lot to do with the decision to axe Tamar off the show. He called out the fact that they all posted Instagram posts but has yet to call Tamar. Fans and Wendy Williams immediately accused Loni Love.
Ok….I usually ignore what “good friends” have to say about what happened to their celebrity best friends because 1) They are talking mostly out of emotion or 2) They probably don’t even know the whole story, but this time I completely believe this friend. On multiple segments, I have seen Tamar driving herself to work and also being the first to arrive and ready for the show to begin. Second, I have also heard about producers being salty towards stars who take breaks for their health (Ask some of these reality stars!!!). Lastly, I have caught some of the co-host shading and giving side-eye to Tamar for multiple episodes. Although I hate to say it, I wouldn’t find it hard to believe that someone plotted to get Tamar fired…It happens in Hollywood all the time. In my head, the evidence in this case was starting to come together like a “Murder, She Wrote” mystery…. But the story is not even over yet!!!
After catching heat like some thighs in an Alabama summer, Loni Love decided to clear her name with a video. She claimed that all of the members of the cast has tried to contact Tamar but has had difficulty getting in contact with her. She even stated that when she asked producers what happened they basically told her “NONE OF HER BUSINESS”. Lastly, she claimed that she has no power to get people fired and that she might be next. Tamar’s friend called bull quickly and has been throwing shots at Loni since then.
A few days later, a rumor came about that KeKe Palmer was going to be replacing Tamar. Ok I like KeKe Palmer, she’s sexy and intelligent! But, didn’t she have a talk show that was canceled after three months…. Palmer later denied the claims.
And there you have it residents, that’s the story we have so far…left in suspense! The good news is Tamar will be discussing what really went down in an upcoming episode of “Braxton Family Values”. But as always there is a lesson to be learned in this story. Money and friends don’t mix no matter how hard you try! Friendship in the workplace is perfectly fine, but it’s always a messy situation when drama and their name becomes linked together. In other words, when it comes down to your coins ALWAYS watch your back.
With that being said… stay safe and keep your mind, body, and soul safe. Until next time residents of ShadyBrooke! And remember “Spread nothing but peace, love, and shade!!”
